low ratio

is the low ratio box supposed to be making loud whine in every gear???

I wouldn't have said so, mine dont it makes a slight noise but not noticeable.

it sort of sound like there was no oil in the box or very little sort of whine

Nope, never noticed a whine on mine when it's in low and it does get used quite often. Sounds like it needs checking out urgently. Especially if you don't think it's got any oil! D3 HSE MY05 Auto

I had a transfer box changed for that! It also whined in high range.

Mine has just had a transfer box replaced on warranty for exactly that. Suggest you get yourself to the dealer to check ASAP, because yours is a 07 which means warranty may not be much longer (hopefully still in warranty)

it was OK than Park Royal finally sealed the leak on the transfer case,... went for a bash and this feck
