Lower gear-lever manual discovery3

Hi,I have searched the forum unsuccessfully for a how to to replace the lower part of the gear-lever on a disco 3 diesel manual lam sure I read somewhere that it can be done from the top help please.

Many thanks for the pictures we had a look at the lower part of the gear lever and it has minimal play on the white plastic and lower bush so have just ordered the circlip with the castellations on the detent spring to see if that makes a difference it is not precise when selecting the gears.

Just beat me to it. There is access from underneath but its very tight. Another way is through the top plate/cover , taking the ring of bolts out. I found I had to take both front seats out.
