No, haven't tried yet. I need to make tooling to assist centering the UJ in the yokes, and a press tool to replicate the staking, that retains the UJ.
I had considered making the kit, and offering it as a service, but my PI insurance wouldn't cover me for making modifications to automotive parts!
TBH, it'd be easier and cheaper to buy a new lower column, and not faff about with the tooling Richard

Thanks for reply both.. Staked uj's are a right pain eh? Love the idea of fitting a standard UJ... Makes it so much easier and cheaper to replace in the future too π
Let us know how you get on.. I'll hold out a little longer but I can see myself just buying a new lower column so if anyone wants mine as a Guinea pig...??

Did anyone try this yet? Lower column seems to be a lot of money these days (even the knock-off sells for $125 USD! )

How do you plan to keep the UJ caps in place when you've pressed them in?
Keep the pictures coming Richard

Plan is to press the caps in.. Get the joint in then secure with a circlip on inside of yolk... Will be easier to explain in pictures!
