Is this an LR tow bar? Its a bit odd!

Hi all

Pic below of my tow bar, and there is no key por lock etc.

Is it an LR tow bar?

Seems to work OK, hasn't fallen off yet!

Looks like the lock is missing, can pick up from LR, eBay etc Iggy/Ieuan

2007 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Zermatt Silver

Not entirely sure what's keeping the securing pin in place! Looks like the pinion is missing, so only the spring holding it.

And some rust perhaps. Richard

Oh dear

Its been to the Alps in France 7 times with an overloaded Thule back box on it though and no issues

Hi,
as mentioned already it is missing the spindle that goes through that hole

Think you would be wise to get that looked at first as nothing for the handle/key to fit to without it

have you ever removed it

does it still have the main locating pin

No I havent ever removed it.

Another thought. How difficult is it to fit a "proper" farmers towbar? Maybe I should have one of those instead?

Hi,
the fixed type or removable are no more difficult than each other to fit,

the issue you have is removing that one

I dont think you can buy the internals individually (others may know) have a look inside the hole to hopefully see part of the main locating pin.
