Definitely worth doing a regular scan for the little even if you don't have a resident scanner running all the time. There's plenty of free AV tools available for PCs, presumably there's some available for Macs too?The End

............ Sad fact is that no PC / Mac / whatever / will ever be virus free, in one form or ther other. The reason viruses do exist is because the counter-mesures for what ever system just haven't found them all ...................

Not had a computer virus or Trojan since OS X was released.
Only ones I have had were Excel macro viruses that would only ever effect a Window's user.
Cleaned out of the files like a good citizen of course before passing the files on to colleagues.
This is the real reason OS X users should use anti virus software - to clean up infected files before passing them on to others.
Happy cuddly and friendly like to our Windows brethren and OS X brothers
It will change of course as Apple's market share increases - which it is.
