Magnetic protection for bodywork

Hi,

As it might be of interest for some of you, here is a link that you might find useful :

http://www.protec-magnet.com/page28.html

On the French version the price is at around 740€ and there is a zebra version at around 840€

Let me know what you think and I must add that I don't have ANY interest in that society... Wink

Well the explanation is in French... Wink

Basically, those are giant magnet that are applied on the bodywork to protect it from scratches and so on when doing some offroading...

It can work on the Disco 3 because this one is in Steel instead of aluminium... Wink

It is removable and reusable at will and allows for some protection on the side...

I'm assuming this is some sort of impact protector that sticks to the side of the car using magnets to adhere - running alongside the body?

I say 'I assume' because it is impossible to work out from the photos what in fact the site sells. Confused

Land Rover Clear Bra

I bought 3M protection for my HSE.
For headlights, bumper, hood and grill.
LR are fitting them as we speak!

It is more a scratch protector than an impact protector and work because, basically, it is a giant magnet... Smile

Reusable whereas 3M is not. Right ?

I can imagine dustbin lids flying around town looking for my D3 thats been converted into a giant magnet Wink At least they won't scratch it though.

Still not sure/convinced how a giant magnet can protect my car though. 3M film yes... many off road tour companies put this on your car to help protect the paint-work.

Maybe you have some magnets on your fridge door ? Well basically, it is the same... Wink

There should be no flying dustbin cover and the external side of that magnet offers protection... Wink
