Major 'new to me' Service / Transfer box oil

Absolutely loving having a Disco again especially as the D3 is so much nicer to live with over my previous 300tdi and TD5.

In addition to some other bits that are done or to be done I am intending on doing a 'full' service. I've got all OEM filters and have ordered Miller's 5w30 Eco EE engine oil, Castrol Transmax 75w90 Long Life for both open diffs and Febi G12 coolant. Brake fluid will be done when the rear lines are replaced, unsure if PAS fluid is worth touching as there are no issues to report. Gearbox was flushed 20k or so ago so not going to interfere there.

I'm seeing lots of conflicting reports on where to get transfer box fluid as the original Shell TF 0753 doesn't appear to be available. Could anyone clarify what the current go to is please?

I'd seen that but the different product code out me off. It's all a bit secretive this transfer box oil!

Decided to go with Smith & Allan as there's numerous positive comments from trawling Google and a reasonable price. I don't do alot of miles and what I do isn't arduous for the most part but I like to do everything I can do on a new purchase for peace of mind. Also ordered 1l of cold climate Pas fluid from them, will drain and refill the reservoir as may times as that will allow so it's at least had some fresh in there, not that it looks like it needs it.

Now I just need to find some time to do the work.

there is some gearbox oil and special transfer box oil on ebay at the moment well priced

me personal view is that you don't change these oils very often so i use genuine products, yes there expensive but if it bothers anyone then use any old oil and if using any old oil bothers you then use genuine
pays yer money take your choice Thumbs Up

I did see that one too. Hopefully what I've chosen will do the trick, I don't do huge miles and have a reputation for chopping and changing cars so I don't think i'll ever need to change the oil again but you never know.

Not sure if I can link to the specs but it apparently is correct for the car.
