JMC, you'd have been proud on Saturday with all those Mantec plates getting their first taste of mud. More there that U could have shaken a stick at. They were not that shiney for long!

I have to say mine made an excellent sand scoop on Saturday.

Some of those without Mantec plates were less fortunate, and had to have their plastic covers dug out of the sand.

One problem. I found the access to the recovery point too small for my shackles.

I was attaching the anchor vehicle (Discostu and Discoflo) to back of Slimer with my rope, and could not get my shackle bolt in. I had to borrow a much smaller shackle.

DD - you need to remove the plastic 'sump guard' first. You need either a 2p or 50p piece to turn the 7 plastic screws (3 at the front edge, 4 at the back). They only turn 90 degrees! This guard then pulls out of the way.

... or use the Sand Pit at Yarwell ...

Just got to page 17 of 30 reading up on this one. Without reading the rest, any plans for another group buy ?

My Mantec tray worked really well on Saturday. I thumped the ground a few times at the front and although I haven't cleaned it yet or looked underneath, I'm sure the Mantec tray protected the D3.
I dug out those two plastic trays from the sand. I've still got one in my boot. Anyones?

That's ok.

Because the ones that were 'playing' kept away from the ones that were training, we didn't really get a chance to meet the new guys.
Maybe next time.

Definately! We thought we (D3Matt, VA & Me) were joining the new(er) guys for lunch but you were all still on the relentless quest for knowledge. We went down the pub instead! 8)

A few of us went to the pub, but I think we had just arrived back as you were leaving.
