Are you sure it continues to run once the car wakes up? You're lucky if it does.
The fans do continue to run for 60-90 seconds after a shutdown to ensure there is no unburnt fuel remaining in the combustion chamber, are you hearing this?

no idea I'm afraid but it still shuts off when the D3 is woken up, so on that premise I would imagine not.

Wink

but you can fire it up in the standard fashion regardless of exterior temp (and maybe engine temp, haven't tried on a warm engine Confused ) as long as the vehicle is asleep... with the remote

FBH faults are stored in the FBH itself, so if it's locked out the 1533 still cannot start it.

Perfect - thanks. Thumbs Up So I presume there's no way that the faults can be cleared using the 1533 - there will always be some dealer-fix-only fault codes?

Yep! Thumbs Up I tried mine on one of our rare 30C days; still runs like a beaut.

The 1533 has never been able to clear any codes; it relies on the FBH being ready for action, so no it can't clear them.
The fuse out trick resets any transient errors, but if there's an actual fault inside the heater then next time it tries to run, the fault code will immediately return and it'll shut down again. This is a good thing! As such, yes, this will be a dealer/Webasto fix as some hardware will probably need troubleshooting/replacing.

It'd be nice to know if any of our site sponsors were qualified in repairing FBH internals; as time goes on this is going to become a necessity.

Many thanks for all the comprehensive replies!

I got mine reset at the dealers the other day which caused it to start this morning - shame it's not something I can do Sad I tried the fuse removing (even overnight) and it hadn't cleared the required fault.

Many thanks again,

John

Thanks again - sorry, one more question.

You say that Webasto dealers can clear fault codes, and that fault codes are only stored on the heater (not on the D3), therefore (assuming they are a pukka webasto dealer) then they can clear all faults and fix, and I wouldn't need to go to a dealer for any additional electronic work?

Mine's working fine since my recent trip to the dealers, but I'm just keen to understand, and also contemplating whether a routine service on the FBH would be a good thing.

Thanks again,

John
