Manually raise the height ?

Hi,
I have a disco 3 with a leak in the air tank, I need to replace it!
However, the disco not been used for a week so obviously it's lowered its self right down. This has happened before and taken me ages to get it back up so I could drive it again. Problem is that it throws a fault up on dash so you have to keep switching ignition off as starting up again every 2 minutes !
Now I was thinking ... Is there away I could manually pump the suspension up using a air line?? I just need to get it over to me in Lincolnshire so I can replace the problem tank. It's at a friend's in notts at the min .
Thanks in advance

try this

THere is also a trick that works a bit like this:

Get in the car.
Turn the ignition on and then off and remove key.
Hold the LR button down on the key
Press the suspension UP button.
You should get a gong, if it's worked.

Now turn the hazzards on.
Get out the car and slam the door.

Hold the LR button down.
Now also holding the lock or unlock button will make the car go up or down

watch from 4 minutes in

True

I thought it may get round having to turn the engine off and in every 2 mins.
I assumed it was getting some height ?

Yes does very slowly get height, once it's up it seems to stay up as long as I use it every day.

Have you tried starting the engine with a door open and leaving the door open.
It doesn't try to alter the height and seems (at least from memory) to run the compressor longer before getting a 'bong'.

If the suspension is up, even with a hole in the tank the car should not drop. The tank is just a reservoir and it is the front and rear valve blocks that hold the pressure in the airbags - even with the compressor and tank removed you should still be able to drive at height and not it have the car drop.

So if the car had dropped when parked up you also have another issue as well as a hole in your tank.

Without an aftermarket inflation kit you are unlikely to be able to raise the car on its compressor with a hole in the tank.

cars of these ages have minor leaks, so will need some help from the compressor.
