| How many reverse lights should there be |
|
Silly question but somebody came to the window of the D4 the other day telling me I had a bulb out, as when I reversed only one light came on.
So the question is how may lights should there be for the reverse lights, one or two?
I could look in that users manual thingy, but keep on forgetting  d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack
D3 with the following

Would be odd for you to have a bulb out Jamie, it's only about 9 weeks old isn't it? Anyway there is a reversing light both sides as far as I know, unless LR have decided to save some pennies and leave one of the bulbs out on yours

That is what I said to the bloke, " I hope not it is only a couple of months old"
But when I checked there is only one bulb eluminating both when reverse is selected and when I double press the light button on the key thob d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack
D3 with the following

Which side is out? You can just make out from the outside if there is a bulb in there or not, can you see a bulb in the side that isn't working? Mine does work both sides.

It is the drivers side that is not working, I can see a bulb in there but not had chance to take it out and have a look.

On a D3 it is two...one at each side
If the drivers side isnt lit its a blown bulb.....
Other makes sometimes opt for just on that has to be on the opposite to the steering wheel (my VW Golf has just one..& its not a bargain basement one) + if they do this they only give you one FOG warning light... that is on the steering wheel side.
If D4s have this its a crap idea & a "cost down" par excelence...which begs the qustion if the model variant has one for the bargain basement models & two the posh ones there are either two lights enclsures made...or there is space for another bulb to be fitted....Whats the point of saving one buld holder & a bulb on a £40k plus vehicle...it isnt a Dacia Duster or A TaTa..(maybe it is ?)
I added a second Fog warning light to my Volvo 340...removed a bung & bought a bulb holder
Strange how car makers work BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics

I have a 2013 and it definitely has two reversing lights as standard ...no dumbing down alarms required 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

In that case I cant believe that the bulb has gone so quick, tempted to go back to them and get it changed free of charge.......
Joking aside I will need to keep my eye on that, once it is changed if the new once goes quick, then there is obviously an issue. d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack

Maybe they dropped the whole unit on the floor before fitting  Conventional lamps go pretty easy tbh ...as said take it back they will give you a new one under warranty  21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

@ body's - the stop lamp, driving lights and indicators ore led and can not be changed.
The reverse and fog lights can be stopped, the reverse is a a P21w

We'll I got a bulb and changed it, guess what...... It still doesn't work
When I inspected the original bulb I didn't think it had blown, fitting the new bulb confirmed this.
A wiggle of the wires and it came on, then went off again. So looks like a wiring issue.
Iooked for a loose or broken wire but all seemed ok, off the dealers on Monday to get sorted. d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack
