Mars
Having watched Wallis and Gromit last night when they decided to go to the moon for cheese. I decided to go to Mars to go 4x4ing Gallery is here, I sent the 110s in first to check things out Clearly no need to send the D3 in unless the coast was clear TBH The Red Pearl was first in In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Isn't that the part of Mars that they filmed 'Total Recall'? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

We took 3 vehicles
CarlS 110 crew cab thats sat on 285-75 18" cooper STTs
AlexE 110 crew cab sat on standard tyre size BFG allterrains
AndrewS Red Pearl sat on MTR's
All 3 vehicles performed just about identical to each other, they got to the same places with just about the same effort to get there. We all failed one very steep slippy slope which to be frank I don't think anything would have climbed it in the conditions we had whilst there.
The only issue I has was DSC cutting in even though it was turned off killing the power This occurred whilst trying to build momentum across some ruts prior to a steep incline. Eventually I was able to find a smoother line, this resulted in the DSC staying asleep I was then able to power up the slope. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

A pity DSC can't be killed completely. If you take your foot off the throttle while it's in the process of killing the power then you can stall, even in an auto!IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

Tell me about it In Morocco last year I found out the hard way that DSC does not turn completely off. Eventually we sussed it out. What we found was you have to keep the car as stable as you can.
I'm not sure of the exact parameters. But it seems as if by turning it off it only reduces it by say 70%. So you need to keep the cars stability below the 70% mark. If you go over 70% it will kick in. If you get my drift.
Keeping the cars stability below this 70% margin is difficult when driving in sand as you sometimes need to boot it.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
