Maybe time to change

Having had my disco for two years and apart from some early teething problems it's a great car.
But seeing the problems some people are getting i.e. Blown engines ,turbos cross over pipes etc etc
I am thinking about defecting to either a shogun or a pathfinder both of which can be bought for 1,000s less the a disco and by all accounts much less trouble than a disco
Any one else thinking the same way Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
 All transmission oil replaced
3 flash indicators
All timing belts changed
EPB serviced
De cat fitted
Wind deflectors
De-tango done
Tints fitted
Egr blanked

Be careful if buying a used pathfinder. Nissan just bought back a mate of mines because the chassis was about to snap

Every forum of this sort attracts people with problem cars - thats why they join. There are also lots and lots of people whose disco's go on and on and on. Read the posts about mileages achieved. There was a post about someone with a 2010 Disco 4 who had done just under 200K and wondered if he should change for a newer model - the forum concensus was NO!!!! I wouldn't ever change for a Shogun and Nissans reliability is really rubbish.

Some sound advice here.

I’ve spent a lot of time on BMW MINI forums, Triump motorcycle forums, Focus RS forums, Volvo forums and various Land Rover ones and it’s the same stories of woe everywhere. Take it all with a very large pinch of salt, if you were to believe even half of it, you’d never buy another car again - irrespective of make.

They’re all the same, BMW X5 has major cam chain issues, Audi Q7 has oil pump failures, Porsche Cayenne has piston coating failures, blah blah.

I must admit mine does give me slight paranoia but then that’s what you get for reading all the horror stories I guess..

Good decision to keep the one you’ve got, every forum you look at has the horror stories whether it’s a bmw, merc LR Ford but st th3 end of the day you pays your money and takes your pick, personally I reckon Land Rovers are pretty good, and hopefully my 16 landmark to 200k plus miles reasonably reliably, been the best car I have owned so far and the plan is to keep it for a long time
