Mice in caravan
Picked up the caravan last night from storage, I store it at a friend farm, where its locked up in a secure shed over winter. I have done this for the past 4 or 5 years without an issue, always remove all the food and stuff from inside.
Anyway, picked it up lat night and noticed inside the front locker mouse droppings, I can't see any signs of droppings inside the caravan but going to have a good look today.
Apart from mouse traps, whats the best way to check that the little fe are gone for good?Dale

I feel your pain - had this with a Bailey I owned some years ago. I found the modern traps were rubbish - you need the old fashioned ones - and the best bait was dried dog food (Millers type Stuff)...
The other option is to keep a terrier in the van for a couple of days - but they are little devils (the mice as well) and they can gnaw their way into the cladding insulation and not come out for days - I finally caught 8 in ours - all fierce looking little devils. The dog caught the first three and the rest ended up on the traps.
You have to work out the routes the mice are using and put the traps (temptingly baited) on those routes. I caught the first 5 or 6 in quick succession - over the course of a week or ten days - but that last one was at least two or three weeks later.
Make sure there is nothing at all for them to eat, apart from the bait on the traps - Hoover the van thoroughly so that there are no crumbs in any hidden corners and take out all food - even tinned stuff. Eventually they will either have to leave or eat the bait.
I didn't use the poison bait as I didn't want them dieing in the cladding and stinking the van out as they rotted!
Worth trying to see how they got in - I never spotted it in ours despite looking long and hard.

Wow that's terrible news they need to be shifted . I know there tiny but how did they get ? Mine has vents in the floor with a fine mesh over them and some have a plastic cowling as well . Good old fashioned traps are the answer I reckon and they love chocolate I caught the ones in our house like that . We get quite a few cars at work with rodent damage to wiring looms so I would suggest rodent eviction is priority this weekend you certainly don't want them stripping the insulation of the vans loom .You're not afraid of the dark are you ?

I reckon the wiring loom is the least of the worries. Think gas and water pipes.

I have one of these in each garage & outbuilding, and in the first weeks caught 6-8 mice. Now two years later I catch about one mouse every 6 months.
They also do a rat version which I use alongside my compost heap., which works equally well.
They are expensive, but do work, and if you shop around there are really good discounts available.
