I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

TBH I do miss sensible reviews of modern cars that used to be on Top Gear 10 years ago.....

I don't like the 'down with the kidz' way that Fifth Gear has of judging a car on how Aunt Hilda can park it between two traffic cones, but I miss the old-school road test and 'pull it all apart' tests of new models like they used to do on TG a long long time ago...

But TG has evolved and I guess it'll get boring now....the TG road-trip episodes are brilliant (especially the 'deep south/man love' one Laughing )

Maybe as the BBC bloke says, there is an opening for a 'Boring Top Gear' to feature such mundane stuff about things that most of us would actually buy, but please don't water it down too much chaps Thumbs Up I like seeing RS4s tearing around the alps and Discos going up mountains.....I'm not interested in seeing how many MPG I can get out of a Japanese commuter shoebox Confused

I can remember JC's review of the Vauxhall Cavailer - I think it upset Vauxhall, still he wasn't wrong Thumbs Up

Back onto the subject of TG though. I would like to see a little less "POWER" in all the super cars and feature a bit more everyday stuff. They have done interesting and entertaining reviews in the past.

The secret filming of the City Rover, the mini cabing in the Scenic and Focus thingy.

Even the review the the Range Rover (Can't remember which one) against the tank was entertaining yet still showed it's off road capability. Personally I do quite like to know how big the boot is, what the rear leg room is like etc.

I really enjoyed the small car test they did where they got their mums in to test drive them. It is possible to make entertaining telly but not have it full of supercars. Actually I often fast forward past the super cars on the track. I am never going to own one (even if I had the money to spend on one) so it holds little interest.

I watched 5th Gear a while ago and, OMG, it was sooooooooo boring. Yawn I'm glad that Clarkson et al came up with their format, which is spot-on, IMHO.

TG managed to review the new Fiesta last series (the one with the Marines) and it was one of the best things they've ever shot, so I don't think there's any danger of it being boring. It's just part of the pre-series publicity game they have to play to get people talking - which we are....

(When TG was cancelled in 2001 (because it was tired and crap) all the production team moved on to start 5th Gear - which might explain why that's so crap!)

although I'm a long time viewer of TG I do find the constant 'hoofing round the track with as many power slides as possible' pretty boring now and the 'reasonably priced car' bit much the same. About time for some new format IMHO

I would love to see some of the original TG shows with Noel Edmonds & William Woolard.
(What was it with car show presenters & beards)?

Would probably be both nostalgic & hilarious!
