Bought some Landy stuff this week, and got a free copy of a paper called "The Landy". Amongst all the stuff about all sorts of Land Rover products was a buyers guide to all types of Land Rover vehicles, and which to avoid.
So reading the Disco 3/4 section it states that you must avoid all vehicles which are in the window of a cam belt change....seven years, 112k miles etc.
The reason for this is this.............To renew the cam belts the body has to be removed from the engine.
Just where do these publications get their facts from, and how many people has it put off from buying one..........
I can imagine LR taking this approach, but we all know that it is not the way it actually happens. 1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

You now know why the paper is free.

I have a friend in S*****y ( to protect the guilty !) who has recently bought a 4 and has been told by his indy that the body needs to come off to do the rear belt so best to leave it alone !!
