motorcross bike carrier to fit swan neck towbar

hi,
i am looking for a motocross/motorbike carrier that will fit onto the swan neck towbar on my disco to carry a yamaha ttr 125...anyone got any idea as to whether this can be done? or if there is an adaptor/bracket on the market so i can convert the swan neck into a standard towbar?
thanks nikki

Have a look here ..http://www.bak-rak.com/index.htm

They do all sorts of things ..but there main product turns the round tow bar into a square .

I have a vice rak and a bak rak of them ...very handy .

hi thanks for the quick reply (again!)
i had looked at these but found a forum on here that said that these had been recalled- probably an old thread tho! looks a great idea- do you carry heavy loads on yours/ know anyone who carriers a crosser on the back? i guess the TTR is about 80kg.

No recall that i have heard about Shocked

I picked up a dish washer the other day with it ...and drove to Bulgaria with this on the back

I have now got a huge ali box which im going to modify the bracket to take .

They will carry 100kg ..more if you put a strap fron the top of the tailgate down to the front of the rack .

Im sure something could be knocked up to take a motorbike Thumbs Up

i couldnt find one 18 months ago; but sold the swan neck fitting for about the same as a witter tow bar Very Happy , which takes a bog standard trials bike friendly carrier!

it does compromise the rear departure angle a little, but not so much that i have ever really noticed tbh

@choppa60

if the question was at me, sorry no it doesnt

just got the one the bike shop said would work; it looks ok with the trials bike on, but i think the size of a large road/ sportsbike would scupper it, i am not sure how a motocross bike would square up

my bikes a 280, so a 125 would be fine Rolling Eyes

England

Maximum nose weight in the UK is 150Kg, but I believe in Australia they go a lot higher than that.

My Yamaha IT465 Enduro bike was 91kg with a full tank of petrol and I carried it on a bike rack on the tow hitch of my Sierra. But it had it's own mount which was sandwiched between the towball and the mounting plate on the car.
