I'm thinking of installing on to a D4 something similar to this for my 125cc Kymco (105kg) scooter. All thoughts would be appreciated around max rear downward weight and the such like. Can anybody foresee any problems?

Hi,
It's how I transport a trials bike
There are a few different types about, not sure for a scooter which would be best, front wheel turning in or out?
Some very lightweight steel/box used on some
Mine has an upright between the bike and car so it can not come forward into the car, many trials peeps use them, there was a D4 at the last event, fixed towbar would be better they use the two bolts that eastern the ball plate on
I made two frames to use on a mini but the bikes weight was followed much
Thanks riverblanch
Any idea what you bike weights - more importantly did you feel any difference when driving?

Hi,
all the ones I looked at use the two bolt mounting holes that a towball also uses, some replace the ball (mine does) some leave the ball in place
My bike is about 90Kg and to be honest you can not tell its even on there, although I do drive "rather carefully" when its on and spend more time watching the rear camera just to make sure I can not see it moving
My concerns were with the left to right side ways strain rather than just the weight, but the racks are manufactured for this use?
I spoke to everyone that I saw using them and not one person had any issues, as long as you strap it down well they go nowhere,
the bottom picture is using two removable sections into 50mm receivers
I would now prefer to use the rack than a trailer, but swmbo does not like how close it is to the rear of the car and its her car
