Mounting a fire extinguisher?

Does anyone have a fire extinguisher mounted in, say, the passenger footwell? If so, what kind of mounting bracket are you using and where did you actually mount it? Off the cuff I would imagine that either in the footwell next to the center console somehow or the passenger seat. On the Volvo I’ve got it in front of the seat but it came like that from the factory/dealer.

I was thinking of having a max 6 kg powder extinguisher in the vehicle. While it isn’t required by law (only a warning triangle is) here, one is required in Estonia which I sometimes frequent. Also need to stock up with a proper EMS bag to the back but it doesn’t require mounting 8)

Under the drivers seat but at the rear ?

I’ve got one on the LR mount in front of the passenger seat like the G4 ones. Annoys everybody who climbs in, unless they have rally navigator pretensions, and annoys me when they knock the clasp undone and leave it rattling. Apart from that it’s a pretty good place for it!

Does that trim piece just pull off to then attach the extinguisher bracket, then push back on?

Found the instructions on some Land Rover web site Smile If you look at picture 12 onwards that’s how it fits if you’ve got electric seats.

Bow down Bow down Thumbs Up Now on the to-do list along with find a good place to mount the life-hammer and get Uncle Ray's ball fitted (oh er) for the RAM Mount kit. I'm gradually getting her to how I like her, just like Dark Bluie was. Thumbs Up

So yes, you take the trim off and bolt the bracket on, but then discard the trim. Mine was fitted when we got the Disco . It was on JLR’s VIP fleet for the year before I bought it so had lots of toys!

That’s good Smile I’ve not found a place I’m happy with for the life hammer yet. Think the roof lining would be better than low down.

Hmmmmm, thinking maybe fixed to the alarm sensor housing. Confused Confused

Got a spare one from DB so if it doesn't work then it's no big loss. Thumbs Up

PS Mmmmmm, position is pretty good. Thumbs Up

PS Though the hammer holder is a bit big, or sensor housing a bit small. Poss 2 bolts & double sided tape. Whistle

Fit a life hammer so it isn't seen easily from outside the car. Thieving scum will break into your car just to steal the hammer so they can break into more cars easier.

Hammer fits perfectly on passenger side center tunnel trim, on the carpet. Just use those Needles.

RAM mount holder:

Tough track 1x RAP-TRACK-A5U , 2x B-size Ballmounts RAP-B-354U-TRA1

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post1836612.html#1836612

It's now tested and deemed good for lightweight, small things. My tablet it still holds up, but it's at the upper end of what can be done with the tough track at the top of the center console. Size and weight... Still, if you're driving alone, the extralarge screensize for satnav and music player is a real treat.

Does anybody have a way of mounting a proper c size ball in front of the seat rail? Any RAM-mount there yet for the pipe or c to d-size ball?

The black trim on an electric seat is held fast with tension, discovered this as a result of a 10 year old managing to dislodge it while pouting Rolling with laughter

Thanks. Thought about it before writing the original post. I dropped the idea as I’d rather have it somewhere else since I tend to have the minions and their friends in the back.
