Must have been her day off then
The fridge full of complimentary drinks and ice cream is a nice touch, the attitude of the staff there is great, particularly the service guys. Nothing seems too much trouble for them.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

So, got it - picked it up as planned on Wednesday. Then on Friday went for a job interview and they called me up on my way home to ask when I could start. Hurray!!! I have had worse weeks I can tell you
Anyway, about my D3. Good things: -
1) I love it
2) Very quiet, comfortable and the Logic 7 stereo is fantastic
3) iPod though aux in socket was quiet but used GoPod (http://gopod.free-go.net/) to increase the headphones socket output on iPod so now it is pretty good (though have just PMd TLO to ask for a price for the genuine LR iPod kit)
4) It has the fridge in the armrest and, to be honest, I reckon I would find a normal storage space more useful but mrs has now filled it with Lilt (yuk)
5) I love it
6) Discovered it has Adaptive Xenons and they are superb - I am finding excuses to go out when it is dark
7) Love the black leather and black piano finish (I asked dealer to get rid of the wood and replace it with black piano finish before I picked it up and much prefer it)
8) Standard bluetooth car kit is great
9) Dealer "found" me some LR rubber mats when I asked him how much they were and then asked "is there a way I can get them any cheaper" - salesman said "ask me" so I did and he went and got some from a low miles px that had just come in
10) I love it (have I said that already??)
11) I have used the Hybrid TV twice so far and reckon it is ok
Bad things
1) Parcel shelf was broken (the LHS spring retaining doodah kept springing out of the parcel shelf) - Farnells swapped it without any problems (which is a good thing but would rather it was not bust when I picked it up)
2) Voice control - almost works reliably - I think I need more practice but 'she' always mishears "4" as "1"
3) Can't believe the windows/sunroof can't be opened/closed from the remote control
4) mpg is about 22 at the moment, was hoping for a bit more than that...
5) Aircon doesn't seem all that cool but will keep an eye on it
Will try and get some pics done this coming week for the record.
Also, will see a few of you at the Disco3 Tong play day on the 9th Nov.
Cheers all

It was up for £28,444 which they had reduced to £27,644.
I had been round a few dealers and had bids (which they were telling me they had offers for this amount from people) of between £3k and £4k.
Farnell said the best bid they had was £3,200.
So, in the end, according to the invoice, I paid
£25824 for the car
£ 220 for 6m road tax (was sort of part of the price to change)
£ 584 for the tow pack fitting
£ 0 to replace wood dash with piano black
£ 0 for full tank of fuel
£ 0 for mats (which he took out of a v low mileage ex LR car they had just bought so cost them nowt)
=====
£26628
So by my reckoning, I paid £25824 plus RFL and the cost of my extras which equalled £26628. Subtract the part exchange of £3200 and the price to change was £23428.
Originally my 'plan' was to pay £20k for an early 110 XS TDCi, get £4k for mine giving £16k to swap. So, only £7.5k over budget!!! (It is the first time I have added that up accurately - best not tell the Mrs).
Bloody glad I did though. The stories of the reliability problems of the early Puma engined Defender put me off them.
Cheers
