How much should I pay?

I think I have convinced Mrs TB that a set of Goodyear Wrangler MTR's would be a good investment for my RRS. As I have a spare set of alloys sitting in the garage gathering dust. Whistle

I started enquiring at the local tyre dealer today but was told that 19" MTR's are on back order from the manufacturers, so I would need to order a set and pay a deposit up front before they place an order for me. It would then be a waiting game until the tyres turn up.

They quoted £170 a corner, is this a decent price or should I shop elsewhere?

Got a new one a couple of months ago at £147, might be more now as in short supply after warehouse fire.

I'd try elsewhere.....

£170 is a bit steep, but as DSL pointed out, there was a fire a while back so prices might of gone up.
Didnt VA get one not so long back, from down his way Question

And don't forget to get a price on 6! Might help discount, 2 spares means you have a puncture you can keep playing. Considering your fuel bill to an event, to turn around and head home would be a crime and you could have wasted more than the cost of an extra tyre. Originally got mine from Nene 4x4 incl FFRR rims. Was £1080 for 5 FFRR 19"ers + MTRs, got 2nd spare later.

That's a good point. I'll have to try and get hold of a couple more 19 alloys first. Thanks for the quick replies.
