In defence of Aintree Green

Having had two dealers turn me down for the purchase of my existing car on the basis of its colour, I thought it was time to redress the balance a little! Razz

So, the next time you order another grey car, give a thought for the classic Land Rover colours too!! Very Happy

Aintree Green is a great colour, sadly V8s were only available in Tonga Sad

So I'm a Grey man in more ways than one. Laughing

My D4 is Aintree Green 🙁

I didn't know it was an unpopular colour.

I wouldn't say it's unpopular, more specialist. If a dealer wants a quick and easy sale, they'll buy a grey one.

My wife's DS is Aintree Green with the black pack and it looks fantastic, in direct sunlight, it's got blue, green and purple flecks. Everyone who's seen it loves the colour.

My D4 however is Orkney Grey but I would have loved an Aintree green with black interior, but they only came with cream.

Dealers just don't like Green.

My last one Marmais Teal was a great colour, though a little bluer in colour.

Had many comments on what a great colour and unusual, but dealer px prices were stupid.

Bottom book if that and condition mileage was excellent.

When it did go was sold within a week at dealer, though was priced about 2k under what a grey or black one would of been.

Lesson learnt next one BLACK Laughing

Still prefer green though Thumbs Up

Mines Galway Green (I believe) and obviously slightly biased but think it's the best colour for the D4.....

I personally would choose a green Disco over a grey, silver or black one but understand the appeal of the quick sale by the dealers.

I like Aintree Green (but you've probably guessed that!), but my favourite is still Kosrae Green, from my first Land Rover. Although it was 6 cars ago, an ex BMW owning (he's much better now, thanks for asking Wink ) colleague of mine still owns it and it doesn't do to park mine too close by Rolling Eyes

My grandmother - bless her, used to say that 'Green' was a unlucky colour for a car !

Anyone know the origins of this, or was it just in my family Rolling Eyes
