Need advice on a purchase-ex birmingham to beijing D4

there are a few of the white Discovery 4 LHD vehicles from the recent 'voyage of discovery' trip from Birmingham to Beijing now on sale in the UK - good spec but they have obviously been through their paces and bested heavily over the past 4 months.

Are these a good buy if i want a LHD D4 ????

One line of thought is that they have been through the mill and over harsh terrain and made it through so all the problems would have been found out and sorted

the other........11-19,000 of harsh terrain and should not be touched

thoughts anyone

When I went on an LR experience they said that the vehicles get returned to LR and they're thoroughly tested before being resold. I expect the same would happen to these vehicles. Wouldn't put me off as they've been well run in.

Only the left hand drive would put me off and will seriously effect resale value, so would need to take that into account when looking at what they are priced at now.

Spain 2007 Discovery 3 4.4 V8 SE Auto Zermatt SilverDiscovery 3

I'd go directly for one of them.
I bought, 6 years ago, from a spanish company who performed a round the world tour. 168 drivers and more than 42K miles.
My D3 has performed faultlessly, but the spanish cars, as belonged to a spanish company, were sold "as is", you know.
So if yours is checked by LR, I would not think twice. No turbo, no EGRs no engine, no piston number 6, no engine bearings to go wrong.

Good luck!

Only problem is that they were built (as far as I am aware) to Russian specification........

Are they being actively advertised anywhere? I'd like to see the adverts....

saxton has a few for sale....they are not willing to do any deals (only willing to drop by a few hundred quid). i am going to wait a few months and get a MY 2013, which i am hoping, will come with the new electric engine.

i was a bit miffed with Saxton - not will to do any deals - these guys not know there is a recession on !!! How many LHD buyers are out there as well. strange

The actual Millionth vehicle was a V8 petrol and has, as far as I know, gone to the BMIHT at Gaydon. A little bit of digging around reveals that all the vehicles used were in fact V8's, so these are not them! I'd say they could be ex Land Rover Experience vehicles used on the continent?

Millionth Drive vehicles were defo V8 Petrol. I imagine these are support vehicles from the Nordic Adventure Drive last Feb or support in Austria for the Evoque 2wd launch last December. They will have not had a particularly hard time and will have been well looked after!
Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!
