Who needs a Cubby Box Fridge!

So after 3 months, I picked up my D4 again on Saturday. Very Happy 1 mod I wanted to do was the fridge. The bill for the engine has completely stripped me of any spare cash I had for mods.

Had a 100 mile trip back from Birmingham, and only had 1 cold can of coke left in my little cooler pack, after the 5 1/2 hour journey on public transport.

Just before the M5, I topped up with Diesel, and thought I would get another couple of cans in the petrol station. Their fridge was down, so only warm cans. Great. Evil or Very Mad Couldn't be bothered to drive around looking, so got 2 anyway. Crying or Very sad

Opened the cold one, and chucked the other 2 in the Cubby box. Lovely weather, and Aircon set to Low.

Stopped off in Gloucester Services for a quick break. Whistle Only fake coke in there (Vanilla, Cherry, Zero, and god forbid Pepsi). Big Cry

Grabbed 1 from the cubby box, to be pleasantly surprised. Surprised

Cold!!! Shocked

Not fridge cold, but a lot colder than when it went in and given another hour, who knows! I guess the rear vent ducting runs along side/underneath that bit. Obviously having the aircon on will cool the car down, but honestly didnt expect it to affect the cans so much in there.

The cubby cooler is one of the best mods for a D3/4. I’d leave cans (Zero version) in there and leave it switched on so cans always cold when I needed the them. And they don’t freeze at -10c!! And the snap from opening chocie bar, suuuuuuuuuperb. Thumbs Up
