New Disco Ordered. Where to get side steps from? |
|
Hello
I have today ordered a new Disco 4 and have now got the long 12 week wait until delivery . One of the options I need are the side steps as we have two young children.
When I asked the dealer for a price to supply and fit they wanted circa £900, so I have decided to look at different options.
I like the OEM look and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations as to aftermarket ones that look right and are good quality? Also are they fairly simple to fit - I'm reasonable with a socket set.
Any info greatly appreciated
Matt

Matt try to get Britpart ones from someone like Paddock Spares in Matlock, my first pair were Britpart and were fine my second pair looked the same but were not as good quality probably From China, got them from LR Cantre in Liverpool.
Dead easy to fit, I'm 68 and did mine without problem. Displaced Yorkshireman.

SDV6 Auto obviously, Loire blue/Ebony, ugly kid glass, RLD wheel protector, private plate and maybe side steps.

I got mine from DCC 4x4 in Woodford. Found them on Ebay. Not OEM but good quality and price. I think they can also do fitting. I did myself and took me a morning, bit fiddly, so if they give you a good price for fitting I would let them do it.

Yes 3 elongated holes in each sill but they are marked on the inside so no problem, a Dremel would be ideal. Displaced Yorkshireman.

I've been trying to get hold of Slimer for the past 10 weeks to put some business his way, in the way of side steps, mud flaps etc but no luck. So I would save your time there.
I'm going to try the other sources mentioned on this thread tomorrow (it's late now!!)
Thanks

I think there was another thread that contained a message passed on from Slimer, something along the lines of that he was very busy and suggested people obtain the parts from other places. It is a bit of a shame as I think there are quite a few of us who are after thingsfrom Slimer and it is always good to buy from supporters of this forum.
