I personally don't need the software, but the holder looks good

agree DG BUt it's the way things are these days, i've given up stressing about it as if i got wound up at everything like this then i'd be in an early grave,
also having working for the big player in a different industry at director level I've seen 1st hand the logic employed by all corps now,
it's never going to change so i prefer to not get wound up and concentrate on my own quality of life and how much enjoyment i can get out of it
since i did that i now surf many times a week, enjoy d3 ownership, my wife, my house and my surroundings and to everything else

I still can't get over my impression that it is overpriced and can't/won't do lots of stuff.
Yes it's stylish and bits of it work well, but is that enough to overcome poor standard features which have to be "topped up" by purchasing applications?
For example - it's been out 2 years now, and they're only just adding MMS capability
I've been tempted a couple of times to get one, but I've always been put off, and to be honest I'm still not convinced
Similarly, I'm still using my 3rd Generation 15GB iPod and iPod Mini as Apple have about with the iPod spec so that the new ones are now incompatible with any of my accessories - such as my Dension in-car integration kits
Apple's behaviour in this respect is poor - happily breaking backwards compatibility at each "update".06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Is it safe to come out yet?I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Given the chance I would upgrade my phone, but as Bodsy said I liked it yesterday I still think it is great today. The only bit I really would like on the S is the better battery life but 10 months time I can upgrade.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

So the iPhone has been tied into 02.. So what!? Mobile bill for my team used to be over £2k a month, now it's down to well under £1k/month, simply by selecting some of the excellent packages that they're offering. (traffic however has increased by about the same as the cost as reduced!)
on the whole, the 02Network coverage has been pretty damned good and certainly everywhere my Vodafone was covered before Bodsys Brake Bible

agree bodsy, my mobile bill was anywhere upto €1500 a month, it's now down to £75 and i get email everywhere as well as skype, no complaints in that department at all,
MMS is something that's i've never had the inclination to use, always thought it was daft paying extra to send a photo, when with iphone you canemail it, only prob was attaching stuff to emails,,, fingers crossed that's sorted.
now copy and paste is way overdue,,,,

For all those people who are upset about the cost of upgrading half way through an 18 month contract... why not wait another six months and be first inline for the even newer iPhone that's bound to come out and replace the 3GS (3GT or 4 or whatever?)
The iPhone 3G (with 3.0 software) is still a great piece of kit, and just wanting to be first with all the latest tech is not just costly and never ending, it's also a bit sad.
