New Key

Hey everyone,
I’m sure lots of you know but this amazes me.

Just ordered a new shiny key to program with my new shiny IID, total cost inc cutting £35.00. The guys site is - https://autowave.co.uk/shop/keys/land-rove...ade-433mhz

I was going to order from eBay and found this and thought it looked a bit better. Ordered Friday arrived today.

Glad I didn’t spend £150 at LR dealers.

Now to work out if I can program a key for somone else’s van with needing another registration on the IID. Smile

Back to the manual I go!

Ta

So if you have an IID tool you can code keys to the car?

Yes I know mine that is programmed to the VIN can do it. Not sure if that’s a requirement but I’m sure yet more knowledgeable chaps round here will know.

If you can find a friendly IID tool owner you can add a VIN for £60. Plus I imagine some beer money!

I just looked at it that the £100 saved was a discount on the IID.

Have you programmed your new key and used it yet?
Interested as I only have one key, and have been looking at options of getting another.
Thumbs Up

That’s what I thought Pete, but still not bad considering you can potential ask a favour to read codes etc in future.

Thanks for the recommendation - ordered one now myself. I got one last year from Ebay, got the blade cut only for it not to program. Guessing the frequency was wrong or something - bloody Chinese products !.
PITA only having the one key and now the battery is dead. Looking forward to having the functionality back.
Thanks.

interesting that for D4 the newer, slimmer, fob is £5 cheaper than the 2-man lift one.

it says they are different frequencies … is that right ? tempted to get a slim one if it works on a 2011 car.

If you have one that’s working and just want the upgrade get a new case for the 2011 one - thats all I did.. It was all under £15

different frequencies are for different countries.

you need the correct one to work. should be printed o the side of the old case

433MHz or 315MHz spring to mind????

They operate on ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) UHF bands.

In Europe, technically ITU Region 1, the ISM band is usually referred to as 433 MHz. The band itself is from 433.05 to 434.79 MHz, center freq is 433.92 MHz.
In North America, technically ITU Region 2, the ISM band has a center frequency of 915 MHz which is how that band is usually referred to. The band itself is much wider, from 902 to 928 MHz.

If you have a laptop, a RTL chip based DVB-T USB receiver you can scan, monitor and .. analyze those parts of the spectrum with for example GNURadio and RTL-SDR (software defined radio). Thumbs Up

Indeed … that's what I thought but the site in the link has 433 and 434. probably a typo ?
