New key

Hi does anyone on the site know where I can get a new key including the programming cheaper than the dealers, they want £280 for one. I only have one key at present changed the battery in it about 18 months ago but I’m starting to notice car isn’t locking/unlocking first press sometimes and today for a couple of minutes it wouldn’t unlock at all. I suspect it may be the wire connection to the remote locking receiver as mentioned via searching on here but without a second key I cannot check wether it is my current key or not but either way I need a second key anyway and also this would rule out the key being the issue

I ordered one from Duckworths I think ? Was a while ago. Blade was cut and I then used a local Indy to pair it to the car. Think I did the whole lot for less than a £100. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Blank key and remote on eBay £19.99 ,Just need to get it cut and someone with an IID tool to program it. Try Ian Bodsworth ,He travels and he’s a member on here Bodsy.

I used bought a fob and blank from ebay (about £20) and then sent to https://keysinthepost.com/product/land-rover-flip-key-blade/ £12.50 to cut... perfect fit from a photograph !!

Disco Mikey programmed it to the car for me in about 30 seconds for a tenner ! all in about £40... I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

I think (from a dodgy memory) that I just sent the blank, but for £12.50 they supply the blank and cut it... seem to recall I ended up with a spare cut insert... I only had one key and by doing it off the photo I was able to keep driving the car whilst all of this was being done...

Hardest part was taking apart the fob without damaging it...

Best plan is to give them call and check!

I’ve found a site to get a pattern programmable key from, I’m going to use the blade from my old damaged spare now I was wondering if there is anyone on here who would be able to programme it to my car I’d be happy to drive to anyone who can help up to an hour from Heathrow area
