New Key fob.

Am I being a little retarded or is the stealer being lazy?

Does a new key fob need to be programmed by the stealer?

Finaly got hold of a replacement key today after I popped in (no phone call letting me know it was in!) but nothing has been mentioned at any time about the vehicle requiring to be coded for the fob.

Does it need to go back to the stealer or can the vehicle programme it?

Yes, it needs to be programmed to the car. Ensure you have ALL the keys that you want programming with you as if they are missing at the time of programming, they will be blocked! Bodsys Brake Bible

The key needs to be ordered using your VIN so that it fits the locks etc.

It then needs to be "paired" to your D3 so that it starts the car and performs remote locking etc.

mine was 'paired' by my indi for free. Black 06/55 HSE. All the bells and whistles, bings and bongs!
