New MY2013 Discovery 4 Commercial engine choice and options |
|
Hi all,
Looking to replace our Discovery 3 Commercial for a new MY2013 Discovery 4 Commercial.
Has anyone recently ordered a Discovery D4 Commerical? If so, I would be interested to hear which engine and options you guys have gone for.
Our TDV6 Discovery 3 has coped fine towing 95% of the time with around 3 ton on the back so I'm thinking the SDV6 (255hp) may be a bit overkill for our needs. However, would fuel economy and residual values be improved with this option over the standard TDV6?
Keen on Xenon lights including LED signiture lights but then notice you also have to have the Bright Pack- £££ !!
Thinking the only option we can justify is a fixed towbar!
Comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

Get the TDV6 then speak to wiggs about an upgrade, more power/economy for less initial outlay
The SDV6 is a good motor in the normal disco's and with a bit less weight to lug around when empty should be a good one.
When towing i reckon you will see an MPG improvement with ease as the newer box locks up much quicker than the older ones and seems smoother as well.
Xenon lights are amazing and once you've had some on a car you wonder how you coped in the past.
Depending on the price I'd say well worth the money if its under £800 for example. Get the leather and heated pack as its so comfy and upgraded infotainment isn't worth it IMO as it will feel slow and poo compared to your current D3...
Armrests definitely if your doing miles in it FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner
Test piloted a new D4 XS SDV6.. Gone and being forgotten i hope!!

Hi KP,
Thanks for your comments.
I'm convinced that those options are good but I fear that xenons are considerably more than £800!
Will check it out.
Thanks

Double check as with a commercial you may find you get discount for one that's already built or a cancelled order drive the deal and NFU often have offers on them FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner

Hi, have had my 2012 D4 commercial for 3 weeks, We went for the commercial luxery pack(Leather seats, not heated!)
I would go for the 8way electric seats as standard manual seats are awful!
