Im pursuing with vigor getting all the problems with my disco sorted by the dealer, but a new problem was picked up which I didnt know about and thought was worth letting you all know to check for.
Basically all 4 of my tyres had worn towards the inside edges (but not on the edge), and had worn 'lumpy' , i.e. not evenly round the tyre but in a bumpy pattern. (dealer called it casselated)
The cause was put down to a suspected issue with the suspension compressor causing the car to 'bounce' along which also may have effected the wheel alignment as this was checked (full) and found to be out slightly. (there is an investication going on I understand into problems with alignment)
A symptom of the casselated tyres turned out to be excessive transmission noise, which now resolved is smooth and quiet again
Landrover have kindly provided a new set of tyres which is a bonus, but its something for you all to check for if you havent had the compressor changed to the latest model.
I also was told the rear wiper arm sticking problem is having a new rear wiper arm designed to fix the issue and once a fix is available I will get that swapped. 2004 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi Silver

As a matter of interest, what is your mileage? Land Rover refused to pay for my alignment check, because the car had over 10,000 miles at the time.

Interesting... keep us posted on this.
My tyres (Goodyear's as I suspect yours are) casselated like yours (inside wear was not an issue).
This also happened on two Freelander's I've had too. Was down to a badly designed IRD. Replaced IRD, gave me new tyres and never happened again.
Related maybe ?
I have always had Goodyear Wrangler on my LR's and they have always casselated. Sooner on the Freelander with the IRD issue. At around 30K miles on the D3.

My freelander did this with Goodyears but less with Scorpions. I don't see how this can be related although the symptoms are the same. As I understood it the early IRDs were the wrong ratio causing the tyre to skip when cornering. My previous D3 had 3 compressors but tyre wear was fine up to 23K miles when I changed it. Just seen it on all my Wrangler fettled LR's is all... I think its how they wear. Just with the dodgy IRD is accelerated the wear.

just about 30K miles on the vehicle now.
The dealer has indicated the casselation is a problem as it causes issues with transmission noise etc.
The car has now had 2/3 full wheel alignment checks.
The attention and willingness to help on this issue may also be supported by the enormous amount of other issues being sorted. I have just worked out I have done about 2500 miles back and forth to the dealer since buying the vehicle for problems to be looked at. 2004 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi Silver
