New Turbo
Just had loss of power and the warning "Engine System Fault" with the "i" symbol , which will re-set with a shut down. Land rover are ordering the parts in and will ring with a time scale in the next few days, just wondering if any one has had one fitted recently and were they in stock or back order.
P.S all done under warenty

Had mine go late Dec & fitted early Jan at Ripon Land Rover.
Yep, there were none about at that time.
So mine was a re-cond unit [D3 was out of warranty].
Not sure what stocks are like at the moment though.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Yep, you don't need the body off to do it.
Though some LR dealers still do it ie MacLeod had his off.
And he had some serious issues with them.
It's something I'd always ask before giving it to a dealer.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

26,000 miles, the fault started about a month ago but landrover could not find any record of a fault code when they pluged it in, it was on the 3rd visit they managed to find a fault code and reset it, i was told if the fault was to show again then they would fit a new turbo, re the story today.

Had both of my D3s in for new turbos just after 3 years. Luckily warranty taken out (not LR one) and financial blow minimal!
It seems to be a common problem as well, one survey here suggested 20% of respondants had failed turbos.

Brings Back Horrible memories, especially when they said can we have a copy of your license, yep, its 15ft up in the air behind the sun visor
I did have issues yes, think mine was the 1st they ever did, so did it by the book. Then they found the bolts well n truly seized.
Dont worry, sure they can sort yours too, not aware of the stock issues, try a PM to Nick, the large one, he can look it up.

Who is your dealer.
My dealer recently diagnosed an issue, but it turned out to be something else.

Got to be honest, the most valuable info on D3 Turbos can only come from Disco_Mikey and Ronp, both gave me reliable and accurate info, and I beleive DM has fitted a few

From my experience, they'll do it when they get around to it.
They do have "customers to deal with" you know!!!
That was a response I got from Chris, the Service Manager !!!
I'd look somewhere else if I were you.
They diagnosed a recent issue as needing and EGR cooler and a new EGR Valve.
Utter tosh!!
My EGR's are blanked off, so how do I need a new one.
"We always do that sir as a matter of course when we fit a new cooler"
That's an extra £165 I'm paying them for nought!!!
Turned out it wasn't the EGR Cooler [as diagnosed by them],
it was the oil coooler [as diagnosed and sorted by local garage] !!
I've had enough of them. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
