Do the V Pads make a difference? I've used the standard fastenings on the Grand Aeros for a few years now without a problem, but if they can be improved............. What do they do?
I reckon they do, with the standard pads, the more you tighten them, the more the pads slip to the edge, with the V Pads they grip so much better and you don't have to tighten them so much. the V bit angles the pad so a larger area of the pad fits the edge of the mirror housing.

I have the grand areo convex mirror's ,I had the flat mirror first and they were not what I wanted

Having been out shopping I ultimately decided on the Milenco Aero2's they seem absolutely fine to me and not too big ! They fit well and give me all the extra vision I need to be comfortable towing, although I did tow it home without and wasn't overly concerned.
Fabulous according to the experts

Also bought a Stronghold Winterhoff hitch lock and a Milenco compact wheel clamp not cheapest shopping trip but worth it for some peace of mind for our first trip !
Go Outdoors tomorrow to pickup a few essentials 8)

The convex mirrors give a far wider view. For example, I can see both the top and bottom rear corners of the caravan at the same time with them, BUT you do have to be careful with vehicles approaching from behind as they will look further away than they really are. Once you get used to them they're fine, but......................
It's each to their own preference really.

as nigel207 says ,i just found the flat mirrors to focus on a very small area behind you and the convex is more like the disco (original door mirror) mirror for coverage behind you ,my comparrison would be a womans flip open makeup mirror as the flat one and the disco door mirror would be the same as the convex ,if your understanding me

You can take the wheels off but the  's will just bring their own wheels to steal your tin tent. Nothing will stop them if they want it, they have petrol grinders that will remove anything you put on your pride and joy. Even removing the hitch won't stop them, they'll just bring one with them.
Our insurance clearly states that the caravan must have a wheel lock or clamp as a minimum, if you want to protect your tyres you can buy covers for the wheels. Oh and insurance isn't too expensive and it will cover you if the worst happens and you hit something destroying the van, or worse.
Remember that your car insurance 'may' cover your trailer/caravan for third party but you really should check with them before you tow anything because some don't. Insurance insures you for fully comp and theft. You guys are gonna be busier than a test bench in a plunger factory!

If you want something to stop it vanishing in the night, they say that they have never had a van stolen when one of these were fitted, the stub axle will melt before they can get it off. After loosing a van a few years ago, fitted one of these ever since.
