New XS Disco
Been to our local dealer today with a view to order a new XS/S. Sales guy seemed unsure about the XS equivalence to the S and hadnt a clue about specification. He finally found a piece of paper with changes and told me about power mirrors and roof rails. I can kind of understand because I can find no info on L/R website, but Motorlogix are listing GS XS etc. What would I be buying?
I wont order a car without knowing the specs.
Are they still pushing S and hoping customers dont know about changes?
I thought the new models were imminent.
I never got to asking about colours because I mentioned the price on the web and was told no way at that price.
As anyone bought their car from Autoebid/Motorlogix and can give me some feedback?
Sorry for all the questions guys.

There are a few guys on the site that have just ordered the 2007 model, I'm sure they will help you along 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
Phone around a few more dealers until you find someone who sounds like they know what they are talking about and take it from there.
Don't forget that there will still be quite a few new S's around as the dealers order quite a few as stock cars. Does not mean they are old stock, both of mine were 'stock' cars and were made within a few weeks of me getting them.
If going true to form LR will either raise the price of an XS or will take something else away if they are adding powerfold mirrors and roofrails.Zermatt silver 06 reg.
Gone but not forgotten !!!

Can't speak about the XS, but I bought my D3 through Motorlogix, and am very happy.

XS is more expensive than the S and gets the powerfold mirrors etc but looses heated seats in the front and rear heated seats aren't an option any more.

I’ve got mine on order, and as far as I’m aware the differences between the new ranges are:
A. Splitting up the cold climate pack and replacing heated seats on cloth trim.
B. Noble (bright) plating to the steering wheel horn bars, centre console cubby hinges and release level, and the instrument pack dial bezels.
C. 3 Flash turn indicators.
D. Revised warning chime.
E. One touch passenger windows.
F. Navigation “destination input on the move†function.
G. Clock in the (additional to the audio unit) instrument panel.
H. Electric seat (with key out) function.
I. Two new 18†wheel styles.
J. Bonatti gray => Stornoway grey
K. Belize green => Keswick green
L. EU4 emissions compliance
New Options.
A. Tyre pressure monitoring system.
B. Hybrid T.V.
TDV6 S => TDV6 SX
A. Deletion of cold climate pack.
B. Addition of power fold (Ex) mirrors, heated screen and washer jets, roof rails and convenience pack.
Price. £ 655.00 Extra on S => SX.
Del. Oct / Nov.
This is just what I think will happen , I hope it helps. Brute force and ignorance, the D3 does the rest.

Thanks for your replies.
Just returned from another less local dealer, and what a difference!!!
Sales guy was friendly, helpful, interested and wanted my money, around the tinternet price.
Confirmed the power fold mirrors and the heated screen and the convenience pack, but didnt seem to have the detailed changes as youve noted D'arkuk. Thats very interesting thanks, especially about the electric seats and bright thingys. Would they be like as fitted to the Metropolis?
Pondering manual or auto next........ you know fuel econ, resale value etc. We have an auto now and I think going to a manual might be difficult.
Other thing I'm thinking is if youve been quoted November delivery should I wait for a 2007 registration?

Deffinately a good manual box from what I've seen, just when you get to that "can't be ar@ed" stage in life (otherwise known as the mid-life crisis), the auto calls out. Mine is my first LR auto glad I went for that.

I want a Christmas present and I want it wrapped, but hanging on for the new reg is tempting. Brute force and ignorance, the D3 does the rest.

C. 3 Flash turn indicators.
Are these what are known as 'lazy' indicators i.e. they indicate 3 times when nudged up or down and then cancel automatically?
Had these on Ford rental cars for the past 18 months and really miss them when I drive my D3 or Mini. That's all I miss about Fords though...
Hopefully this can be added to existing D3s via a software patch. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

Those are the way the indicators will work and I find them really useful.
I'm not sure about a software upgrade though. When I was contemplating a 2006 MY upgraded to 2007 MY spec the dealers service guy said that was one of the things he didn't expect them to be able to do easily. He said that even the indicator stalk will be different to the current car.
