Night drive
Took my Disco out for the first drive in the dark last night since getting the car in June. As it is the HSE has the adaptive xenons. Very impressed with the lights on normal dipped beam and main beam is just wow! Had some numpty in a Zafira decide to be clever and shoot up past me on a 70 mph dual carriage way and then cut in front to get off just before a bridge. Lit them up with the main beam and I swear I could see the look of sheer panic and shock at the light in their rear view mirror. Made me chuckle. Hopefully they will think twice next time.
The closest thing to a grumble is I must try and find some led sidelight bulbs as the normal ones look awful alongside the xenons. Just need to find some that look similar to normal bulbs when not on as the stick type ones would annoy me looking odd in the housing.2006 TdV6 HSE.

Glad to hear you've never made a mistake or misjudgment when driving.
You really showed them by dazzling them and spoiling their remaining night vision.

I can promise it wasn't nt a mistake or misjudgement as it is just after the first of two average speed cameras and they do it so they don't have to stick to 70 and drive down a road with a 50 limit. Dumb logic in my book.2006 TdV6 HSE.

Have a look on power bulbs website, you can get LED bulbs for £12, make sure you get the 5000k ones.
I've got some in mine and they make a huge difference

Irrespective of whether it was an error or not, do you think dazzling them was a good idea?
Your second post doesn't make much sense either.

Thanks Taggart. Will have a look.
The dual carriageway has recently had average cameras fitted both ways at either end of a bridge that connects the main land to the Island due to a large 120 car collision and also a separate fatal accident and they have no over limit tolerance and lots of drivers fly down over the 70 limit past the first camera then get off just before the bridge to avoid the second camera but the old road is only a 50 limit so they are not gaining anything but taking it as opposed to staying on the main new road.
But yes I do feel flashing them was appropriate due them cutting in close in front of me and then braking for the slip road. There was nothing behind me so no real need for them to do it.2006 TdV6 HSE.

The same ebay elcheapo w5w capless bulbs for the interior lamps also fit the front position lamps and are nice and white same as the xenons themselves.
On another post a member recommended the Vanssi ones as being real good, 10 quid amazon, 11.70 ebay for 10 bulbs.

Cool. I have got the Vanssi ones inside and they are very bright. Didn't really think about using them for that.2006 TdV6 HSE.

That'll be me.
I've got 14 of them in my D4, in both Jazzez and had them in the now dead D3. Very white, nice and bright and not a single element of a single bulb has failed in the 13 months I've had them. Well happy. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01EQU...&psc=1

Don't know how good they are but as they are 2 for £8. If it was me, I'd try the £10 for 10 bulbs, they are great for the interior but if they don't suit the side lights then try the other ones.
