Worth checking that you weren't trying to tune into a regional BBC channel.

I realised this the other week Embarassed

Had this with my home TVs a few months back.
Lost all BBC channels whilst keeping all other mainstream channels.
My issue was a weak signal combined with an out of position aerial.
Hope this helps.

Been missing on home tv for a while but re-appeared after I did a "first time install" re-tune last night.

From memory the DVB-T in the Disco rescans on a regular basis. I don't think you can delete the existing channels you have to wait for them to refresh automatically, although I stand to be corrected. I live in a town that has suffered with signal / reception issues for years. Depending where in the town I am, dictates which channels I get, though I'd think BBC should be available in most DVB-T reception areas as it's a key MUX.

I guess the reception in the car has it's limitations too. To get all the channels at home from the Caradon transmitter I need a wideband aerial with lots of elements (DAT75) on a 25ft pole & a masthead amplifier.

We have been having this problem since the winter Hill transmitter reduced certain frequencies to accommodate 5G services.
Had to call a local aerial guy to install a high gain aerial as we were constantly losing all freeview channels.
Having said that we are in a recognised weak area.
