hello ! or should it be HELP !!! i have a problem. no power on pulloff, driveable once its going but still not wright, would not even climb a gutter when cold, have to have a rollup! ok on motorway as long as reves are up, When cold you can put your foot to the floor and walk faster, helps a little if using manual mode as the reves stay highter, but its becoming dangerous to pull out at islands ect, feels like a massive diesel lag !, also noticed a strange faint whistle sound from engine ! very faint but soulds like there is a buggie in there, this problem did clear at one point for a day but then came back and has stayed. any help on this would be welcome. thx allTREX700n / BLK Disco 3 Metropolis 06 Auto

I've moved your post into a thread of its own so it's not lost where you put it originally - hope that's OK.
Have you had your D3 in to be diagnosed at all?
Your issue could be one of a few things - duff EGR valve(s), split/delaminated intercooler hose or jammed turbo actuator rod for starters.
All of these are well documented on the site so have a search and see if they match up with your issues 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

thx for the speedy reply, no i have not had it pluged in yet ! as no fault lights showing. i guessed EGR valve and was looking to block them off first anyway, are there any pics on here so i know where to look for them ? i cannot seam to get to grips with the search on here ! you type in one thing and a load of other stuff comes up ?TREX700n / BLK Disco 3 Metropolis 06 Auto

As Martin sez, error messages first as it could be either EGR or a goosed turbo. Any smoke or error messages on the dash?? If neither could be just good old EGRs.

no error messages no smoke (well only when it hits blast mode , usual di smoke) i now see the info on EGR kits ! where do you recommend i purchase a kit from ? even if its not them i guess its a good move to fit the kit. my local landy man wants £60 to read my faults (if any) ! is that reasonable ?TREX700n / BLK Disco 3 Metropolis 06 Auto

right! well thx for the info boys . purchased the blanking kit from bell and the power came straight back .. part fixed !! I now have noticed when driving around town it’s as if the rev limiter is operating (but i know its not) ! don’t happen when cold just when its warmed up ! it’s as if you flicking the throttle really fast ? this problem was there before but because I had no power it was not so noticeable . put your foot down and its fine ! try to go along steady and its there ? you can hear it, feel it and see it on the rev metre. any ideas ?TREX700n / BLK Disco 3 Metropolis 06 Auto

trex, sounds like turbo failure /actuator.... you've not mentioned whether you've had it plugged in to a LR dealers, have you had it diagnosed on dealers faultmate?
my guess is its got one or more EGR failures which has been sorted by the blanking kit (which would not show on the dahsboard if you've got a base model), but has shown up the turbo issues, get him in to the stealer
