Non AFL Xenon height adjustment |
|
I've done the usual search on this, but can only find info for the Halogens and D3 light units
https://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/us...tion~8.pdf
Is the procedure the same for the post 2014 Xenon units?
Basically I've found that I'm being flashed constantly at night now that the nights are getting darker earlier - so want to get this issue fixed before winter kicks in fully. I know some drivers can be a bit over-sensitive to modern lights, but it's happening too often to be just that
No idea why they would be so far out as the lights are totally stock and should level automatically? 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320

Here the inspection (equivalent to your MOT) guys adjust them for you if they notice the pattern is wrong.

Main reason you get flashed is because the lights are rubbish for night driving compared to earlier models, as has been said before only good for lighting trees up, no corner lights and no “see me home” rear lights. fit pre MY13 lights if you do a lot of night driving It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Simple to adjust using the nylon-looking adjusters (v&h). However, recommend you pop it into local mot station or similar to have them done correctly.
When I swapped mine I was being flashed constantly. Took it to my LR service centre who adjusted them for free. Were only just a bit out but enough to be a nuisance. Took them 2 mins.

I can't get my local dealer to fix at the faults they've caused, so I'm not going to try and get them to fix one that I have

I can't say I've noticed them lighting up trees yet. Mine has the corner lights (the original 2013 ones didn't) and the follow me home lights still work fine at the back.
I do quite a bit of night driving (living in Scotland it's dark more or less all the time from September onwards ) but the brighter running lights during the dull days are worth the hassle. Plus they look so much nicer than the old fairly lights IMO 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320

Well after having the loan of a D5 for a week that had under 800 miles on it and being flashed more or less constantly - I've concluded that people around here just don't like modern headlights 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320
