Non Diversity Antenna System

What is the Non Diversity Antenna System?
Took mine to the dealer today compaining of poor reception and poor sound. There was an internal fault in the audio module and they replaced and reprogrammed it.
but said the reception was the consistant with a Non Diversity Antenna System.

Antenna Diversity is a technique in which 2 (or more) antennas are used for reception and the antenna with the strongest signal is selected dynamically.

Thus a Non Diversity Antenna system only uses 1 antenna.

It is my understanding that some models in some markets have Antenna Diversity.

Either way reception is poor and the head unit never seems to want to grab the strongest signal. Its RDS and will grab a frequency thats local but does not want to automagically keep to the strongest one... pressing the memory button for the station seems to be the only way to get a better signal once the crackling starts.
