Still awaiting news, but at the last shout they were fixing/reconditioning/replacing (to be determined) the auto transmission.

This was on Monday so hoping to hear back in the next day or so.

Continue to watch this space...

So car being collected from transmission guys later, but still a problem with the Infotainment system needed to be rectified. Doesn't look like it will be back before next week now. Sad

And so, after almost 3 weeks I have the D4 back Very Happy .

    Replacement Gearbox
    Replacement Nav Unit
    Replacement lower steering arm.

I can't fault the company for getting it all sorted at their expense (not claimed on warranty). They've kept me informed at every stage and even delivered the car back to me at my works.

I was allowed to use and abuse the D3 all the time I was without the D4 and put about 1000 miles on her. She never missed a beat in all the time.

So whilst I was thinking how bad a situation it was, they've done me proud getting it all resolved and back. I'll also be getting an extended warranty on the D4 at a vastly reduced price.

Now, to sit back and enjoy the D4. I'll create a new thread once I get a chance.

Excellent. It’s the putting right that counts, good for them.

Enjoy!
 King of the typo.

MY11 D4 5.0 V8, Bournville, lots of goodies!

Now departed: '85 RR Vogue, '94 D1, '95 D1, '70 SIIA, '97 D1, '04 D2a. All V8, except for the SIIA - but that drank as much petrol anyway!

The garage is 1st Choice Cars, Faringdon, Oxon.

Just off the A420. They aren't the cheapest around but in this case I think the price was worth it for the service I've received.

Based on my experience I would definitely recommend them and there is a half decent 54 plate D3 going to be available soon, once they've cleaned and inspected it after my use. For the record, heated front windscreen doesn't work fully (just a narrow strip on passenger side). Also, would suggest an ATF change as the autobox just seemed to over rev under load too much for my liking. But that may just be the way the autobox works on a D3.
