Hopefully it will be picked up by insurance. Then will decide what to do when it is home. Just gutted as I have put about £2k of new parts on it !!! Is what it is I guess. Will chat with DM when i am back if he is happy to do so and make a plan. I haven't the time to break it into parts myself and being in Berwick Upon Tweed not a great location either. If I was middle of England then maybe a bigger market. Anyone have any idea what it would be worth as it to a breakers ? James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Sorry for your misfortune, please let us know what the cause was, I have heard recently that the bolt holding the tensioner has snapped after being replaced(same as the HPP tensioner bolt that snaps too) I'd like to go over to Paris and give the designer who thought that such a vital mechenisum could be secured by a sliver of aluminium and a M8 bolt a slap round the head, if the mounting has gone (unlightly with the new part) try to see from which side it fractured, if it was from the left it would be because it was over tightened on install, to a hairy arrsed defender mechanic 24nm is like a fairy blowing on a blade of grass, can't see the belt snapping it is to strong, it would rip this fragile engine to pieces before it would snap.

Thanks and yep will ask DM I hope to look at it for me. See what he says. My mechanic has done D3 belts before but I know he struggled with fitting the the oil pump (started to leak from the crankshaft seal) so had a couple of goes with that. But he used a new bolt on the crankshaft as I ordered it from Advanced factors. In hind-site which I had taken it to Mastora in Alnwick. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.
