A few years ago we had bad snow down our way. After a long day I got a call from work colleague who had come of the road in the snow and beached across a snow earth bank with all four wheels just of the ground. I got a call"Could I help" went down in bad conditions and pulled his car off the bank/snow all good.
24 hours later I got another call from another work colleague, his wife had done the same with her car 12 hours before, except she was beached length ways and the car had been there for 12 hours. Snow had drifted around car. I went down at first we dug car out a bit I then back in to try to pull car out. Unfortunately I could not move the car and ended up giving up. Disconnected tow rope and tried to move and guess what I was now stuck, this was down to deep snow around my car and where I had spun wheels slightly and dug down onto the ice below.
Any how a bit of digging and some info from here and the Disco came out under its own power but I was worried for a minute that I may need a tow

What tyres have you got?
My first thought to, tyres are mega important, more important than people realise.
Standard road tyres but only 500 miles on them. I suppose if you haven’t got any grip no matter what tyres you have you’re not going anywhere.
People forget basic arithmetic. 4 x 0 is the same as 2 x 0
yes but 4x0 will get you a lot further and stuck in a much more remote area
