Obviously my D3 is not a Morning Car .

On way to Youngs this very cold morning, (-8 ), for my 37k service.
A bong and message centre reported engine system fault then total loss of power. No lights displayed though.
Luckily enough was only 3 miles from garage and pushed it on in command shift as did not want to reset and clear fault as wanted garage to see it first. Expecting it back this evening, touch wood. Yawn Yawn

Had something similar to this a few years back on the 2004 D3. Pulled out of a junction as normal and then a snails pace, complete lack of power

Was like waiting for the elastic band to kick in and power the motor. Laughing

New turbo fitted under warranty.

I got the webasto heater timer installed on my D3 a few weeks ago and its fantastic. Engine fire's up straight away (-6 this morning) and instant warm air to defrost the windows. Everyone should have it Thumbs Up

Hi bobic - did you do it yourself or get someone else to fit it? I keep reading about the timer (especially like the GSM phone trick) and I'm getting jealous! Big Cry

Hi 1stLandie,

I had my local electrical mechanic install it as wiring a plug is the limit if my abilities, but he said it was very straight forward.

I think I bought it from Devon 4x4. I set it to run for about 30mins in the morning before I get in but have been surprised by how much fuel it uses. Also they recommend you drive for about 15mins after using it to maintain the charge on your battery.

GSM unit contains a sim card which gives you the ability to text/phone thus switching the FBH on.

read all about the GSM http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic16361.html

and the FBH http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic15454.html

Got my car back yesterday evening.
Turns out it was a faulty turbo pressure sensor. They replaced sensor and all fine now.
Find it funny that one nearly has to beg dealers over here to carry out work that is not scheduled for a particular service such as changing fuel and air filters. Otherwise these such items would not be changed until 55k. Seems a huge interval when one is expecting optimum performance from a vehicle on a daily basis. Dealers never fail me with the screenwash though.
Total cost of service was €470.

Never had to beg mine . You're mad to pay a dealer to change your air filter.Just buy a half dozen from Nick Lee and change them as they need to or go for a high performance filter that you can clean yourself.

BTW what did you have done for the 470 ?
