Thanks. From memory are the two small cars transverse engine layout to fit with the Haldex clutch?

I’ve been trying to get a test drive in a petrol XC90 but there appears to be none in Scotland so Volvo don’t want to sell me a car! Have come back to the 300PS petrol D5 as not bothered about a LR box and I’m convinced at some stage Edinburgh Council will ban diesel cars.

Just found out from my salesman that my old D5, with a grand total of 10k on the clock, is getting a new engine under warranty due to metal fragments in the sump.

Shocked Shocked

All credit to LR there for simply swapping the motor.. I had a new Citroen C5 once; it ate two entire sets of cam shaft lobes and deposited them as iron filings into the oil. Citroen has replaced two sets of cams before it had even reached 16,000 miles, but still they insisted that the oil (let alone the engine) wouldn’t be changed until it’s first service at 20,000 😳

The engine never made it past 19,000...

I’ve still got all the emails between me and the service department who said there was no need for any action. It went in once, where they said an oil change wasn’t required but they would do one at cost to me by way of deducting a service from my plan.

The car should’ve had its second service in March there.

Spotted this earlier on Facebook. The subject of oil dilution in Ingenium engines fitted to the Defender came up and somebody had posted this in response. It's a bulletin to JLR sales staff on how to guide a customer based on their intended vehicle use and explains how the location of the DPF is relevant to whether the vehicle is likely to have a problem. Had a quick search and couldn't see this on here, so here it is in all its glory
