For peace of mind, even though it will cost unless you tackle it yourself, I would expose the timing belt and check whether you have the modified oil pump. Photos in this thread will show you what to look for.
If you've got the weak casting then I recommend you fit the later type pump ASAP.
It would appear that LR will have nothing to do with a claim from an older Disco. I have an 07 SE Disco and it was fitted with the weak pump. This has now been changed to a later FoMoCo pump supplied by Disco_Mikey. Don't buy from LR, they charge double for the same part supplied by Citroen.2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

Don't buy any non OEM pump. Make sure it has FoMoCo in the casting. The identical pump can by supplied by Citroen. It's the same as the LR unit but half the price.
I got mine from Disco_Mikey along with belts and crankshaft bolt. Don't try ringing Mike as he is up to his neck in work (a good omen). PM him for a price. Also check out all the threads relating to 'oil pump' on this forum. Stacks of info.
If you do the work yourself, be aware that the fan bolt is left hand thread. Or advise your fitter if being done by an indy. A few hundred quid spent now could save thousands in future.2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

Pump of same design but of different quality, surely for being of different manufacturer, although this last one is really a conjecturelost in translation!
