Could you pass on the contact info?
I am getting the run-around on a D3 that doesn't seem to have had the recall in the first place. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Thanks DG, I feel a lot better knowing that it's being investigated and as BAZ asks.... an update will follow.
Highlands: I would suggest that you contact the general email address - lradvice@jaguarlandrover.com - that's what I did.
I did this and after some ping pong emails I eventually I received a reference number for my case and that has generated one person dealing with it. Get as much info in your first email.
The information you need to give them to speed up the process is:
1). Scanned copy of your V5 - This is for the DPGR so they know they are dealing with the current registered keeper and owner.
That will allow them to trawl all their data base to see which dealer carried out the PO17 recall (or if there is no record showing the recall work was done). It will also show what parts were fitted.
Also give them permission to share your data with their franchised dealers.
2) It goes without saying to give as much info on the fault on your Discovery and the circumstances surrounding the brake failure - Mine was a narrowly avoided accident.
3). Although on the V5 - Include your VIN and registered number in the email.
4). Specifically ask if the PO17 recall was done? By which dealer? and What work was carried out and parts fitted?
I'm now in the system with a reference number and an assurance that it is being investigated.
I'm happy to give them some time to response and I must say the overall tone of the emails is very positive as they are taking this matter for what it should have been in the first place.

I went through all this a few years ago after brakes failed and couldn't stop at a round about I ended up 10 foot over the white line !!! Lucky for me no other cars involved , called dealer and they said drive the car to them 25 miles away so I did breaks seemed fine , recall done ( a few small pipes fitted and told that's all it needed ) disco cleaned for free BUT a few months later the same again so took disco back and they fitted all new servo etc at no cost to me and was perfect after , so outcome good but just a pain in the ass -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

ILC - I went through all this about a year ago, had loads of friendly contact with LR customer relations, lady was very helpful, spent ages scanning in years worth of service evidence, receipts etc.
Upshot was a big fat zilch.
I agree with all your points, I felt the same.
Good luck but I think you are wasting your time. 2014 D4 HSE Facelift Corris Grey

What would you think of chances of fix from Landrover when they only did it in April 2017

Apologies for the late replies as I’ve been away.
As predicted by many on here, JLR are not interested. Polite they may be and are saying all the correct things in the emails, but it’s all smoke and mirrors and basically a big FO Pill!
I still think it’s a serious and potentially fatal design flaw on the original part and also the remedial recall work on PO17, so with that in mind I’ve handed all to the Civil Servants at DVSA or whatever they’ll be called next week!
I’ll keep you posted. Discovery 3

Hi All
Got no where with Landrover even though repair was only done April 2017
Best bit is when I called stratstone stourbridge who originally did repair in 2017 I was told to get a complete fix for the p017 recall fault need change the vacuum pump, servo and pipework , then they said if I’m keeping the vehicle do everything but if going to sell just change servo and pipework so what they are saying that servo and pipework is just a short term fix, I have sent email to stratstone service manager and to Landrover crc lady called Sharon who was dealing with my case on what as been advised to get a complete fix. What a joke these people are

As predicted by many sages on here, JLR said the right things and did sweet FA!
I've had the work done by a trusted (not LR of course) garage and the D3 is working fantastically!
Despite many emails to VOSA, the first being in early August, I'm still awaiting their 28 day reply.
I've stopped holding my breath as I was turning blue! Discovery 3

I've bailed and bought the bits to do the change myself as well, despite the recall work never having been done.

Totally agree!
I'll see what VOSA say, but doubt they will be bashing on the door of LR... Discovery 3

sorry to say it but honestly guys don't waste your time - fix it and move on. If they were going to help then the precedent would have been set years ago. 2014 D4 HSE Facelift Corris Grey
