Sorry for resurrecting this but I have spent ages looking for the old threads and can't find them! 
A year ago when my D4 was new, there was a lot of chatter about the incompatibility between the Disco (and other cars) and a wired iPhone connection. The bluetooth would take over after a few minutes. Did this ever get solved? Does anyone know whether the new iPhone 5 addresses this? Happy to be pointed to the thread!
