The old sunroof drain issue
ive got a blocked sunroof drain and watched all the you tube clips but I can't see how you access the drain tube end in the sun roof channel the channel just seems to disappear into the roof before I can see any rubber tube or access point to feed any cord into to clear it through am I missing something. As all the videos seem to overlook thus bit so I assume must think it obvious .MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

There's a ton of info in the wiki on this. The drains are in the corner of the sunroof housing. You can poke curtain wire down to clear them out. If you need to you can lower the headlining and remove the A-pillar covers to get a better look. But a bit of searching is your friend on this. Tons of pics and some good vids on U tube, etc.PAGODA

The holes up top are very small, slightest bit of water and they are hidden.

managed to get it to flow after removing the side vent and putting a electric air pump in the spout and blowing it back through to the sun roof gulley.
im not 100% convinced now that this was the cause of the water ingress as it seemed too easy but fingers crossed.
Aqua vacced the water out and will see how it drys out then get the hose out when daylight and time permits
i checked the pollen filter and all was dry so hopefully the drain was the cause ,,but got to say as others before me its a mystery how this causes the water to flow so substantially into the footwell i couldnt believ how much their was although the cars been parked up for 2 weeks whilst ive been away and weather heres been awful so i guess a perfect storm of conditions for thisMY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

Did mine today after sucking tons of water out last week.
My drain wasnt blocked and water seemed to be draining out ok but I checked anyway and found the end had a split that I guess after heavy rain would let water through.

Yes I'm thinking same now where did you get the new end and what connector did you use...? Seen a lot of Vids using push fit connectors as don't fancy a headliner drop and complete tube re run.
How old was yours?MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

I used a local specialist (land ranger) The guy is great and full of knowledge so he sold me a drain and gromet end and he suggested I pull the end off and just fit the end to the existing pipe. I think it was around 15 quid. I’m sure Land Rover dealerships would keep them in stock as they probably sell and use a few

thanks again
ive orderd the pipe and elbow as it comes as one unit i was told at the dealer as you say £15 each so ive ordered 2 so that i have it when the other side goes .. they were out of stock as apparently theres been a run on them of late
im assuming the elbow and pipe are a push fit so i can just remove from the new pipe and push / glue? onto the old or have others done differently ive seen utube vids of jubilee clips and push fit connectors
so wondered what the general thought are on the best joining methodMY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

I'm interested in how you are getting to the point to connect a new end (elbow) to the old pipe. Can you share any info on how you did thi/propose to do it?
Mine has gone on the passenger side, which is a bit of a nightmare apparently as you have to remove the CJB in the footwell to get to the pipe and renew the end.
To avoid taking down the head lining and A pillar I was planning on using a 12mm push fit pipe connector per the video on youtube to connect at the point it comes through the footwell.
Thanks in advanceGary
