One day D3 owner, suspension fault!
picked up new to me 2006/55 hse today and drove back to Plymouth from Swansea. All I can say is what a car. Quiet, powerful, massively spacious and all the toys, rides beautifully and even got 28 mpg from the auto.
BUT BUT BUT -- suspension warning light came on after about 50 miles. No other symptons at all. Stopped the car, restarted and light went out, but came on again 50 miles or so later. Dash waning just says 'suspension fault', but doesn't explain further. Handbook no help, and the search on here reveals all sorts of symptons that I do not have (yet!!).
Any advice much appreciated.

No problem rainifa, mine starting bonging with all sorts of faults when I picked it up from the dealer
All the problems are well outweighed by the pleasure of owning a D3

If the drive home was anything to go by then I think you're right, it was excellent to drive and so comfortable. I just hope its not going to be unreliable from the start. I'm pretty happy, but a potential problem so early on does sour the experience

Seems a long way for you to take it back to where you bought it, so the quick and easy option is to get the fault codes read either by a local dealer or independent specialist. It could be something as simple as a faulty height sensor, but could also be more serious including duff compressor, wiring fault etc.
Does it raise and lower with the fault light on?

Mine did that and it was the compressor failing, should be easy enough for the dealer to sort out. If it was a Land Rover approved purchase call Land Rover Assistance, I believe they carry spare ones with them and can fit it.

Mine's a 55 plate late 05, had the usual faults. Think the compressor was on the way home Followed by the EPB a good selection of the other bits.
Wouldn't change it for the world though, done 76k, my fifth, and best, Land Rover despite the niggles!
Only two things that really pee me off though, the daft design for winding the spare wheel down and tyre wear compared to my old TD5! BUT, still an absolute excellent car, love it 8)

the car does go up and down ok and the compressor doesn't seem to be working overtime. I guess I will go to the dealer and get the codes read to point me in the right direction. Looking around, am I right in thinking the compressor failing could be the worst case scenario, but even that doesn't look horrendously expensive.

by the way, I have had poor service from Roger Young (local dealer) in the past and wondered if anyone near Plymouth has a good local recommendation for a specialist?
