Ordered New HSE

The deed is done. Delivery at some point late April or early May. Waiting is going to be painful but at least I can start to buy up the self fit bits and pieces now.

Aintree green with Almond/Arabica. I've gone for the Active rear diff' as we will be spending quite some time off road in Wales and in Europe. Privacy glass , heated steering wheel for SWMBO - why can't she wear a pair of gloves like most mortals?

Good choice. I hope that you enjoy it and the suspense of the wait. Laughing

No choice with the wait. I was offered other colour combo's and extra's but a man needs what a man needs so I gotta' wait.

In respect of the colour I know a few people were wondering what Aintree looks like. Guy Salmon in Bristol have an RRS in Aintree which confirmed things for me.

United Kingdom 2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3

Hello all you D3 &D4 fans, this is my first post on here (Forum virgin), so here goes!!! Having owned a D3 HSE 08 plate, I have ordered a new 20112 SDV6 HSE from Westovers LandRover dealer (Formally Ottons) at Old Sarum in Salisbury. So here's the vehicle I've ordered.

FACTORY VEHICLE & OPTIONAL EXTRA'S:

1. D4 SDV6 HSE
2. Colour - Orkney Grey
3. Interior - Ebony
4. Straight grained wood
5. Active rear locking diff
6. 20" Gloss black alloys
7. Full size spare
8. Centre cooler box
9. Smokers pack (Handy to have a fire source)
10. Heated steering wheel
11. Harmon Kardon Logig 7
12. Hybrid TV
13. Ext - Roof rails
14. Privacy glass
15. Vision assist pack
16. Tow pack

DEALER FITTED OPTIONAL EXTRA'S:

17. Front mud flaps
18. Rear mud flaps
19. Body side mouldings
20. Side steps
21. Stainless steel rear tread/bumper plate
22. Quick release Tow Bar stowage
23. Tow strap
24. Sill tread plates
25. Loadspace mat
26. Flexible loadspace protector
27. Third row rubber mats
28. Day time running lights
29. Drive select rotary shifter upgrade

DEALER SUPPLIED EXTRA'S:

30. Front rubber footwell mats
31. 2nd rubber row footwell mats
32. Spare Bulb kit
33. Warning triangle
34. First Aid kit
35. Full tank of diesel

I've got the above vehicle on order, which is due to be built on 17th February, fro delivery to the dealer on 7th March. Allowing a week for the dealer fitted extra's to get sorted, I hope to be in my new little beast around the 14/15th March.

Now I know some people will think I'm mad for wanting a vehicle with all of the extra's on it, however, I plan to keep this vehicle hopefully for up to ten years, so hope to get the most out of it!!! Ok, I know the forum 's members may be critical over my choices, but as it stands, the above car will suit my many needs for the immediate future.

I have had two opportunities to test drive the 2012 HSE D4 vehicle, the first time for just an hour, the second time for
3 1/2 hour's. The second drive was brilliant & so much fun. I got to try the sports shift paddles, these were particularly useful on an overtaking manoeuvre. The engine is extremely powerful & responsive, & I had to watch my speed, as one can easily drive much faster than one realises. In truth, the 2012 D4 handles like a sports car, but with the added benefits of being as solid as a tank, with a fantastic driving position, well equipped interior, good build quality & a very versatile all round vehicle. (Think MPV/4x4/Luxury Limo/Workhorse) My only hope is that I don't experience any problems in the reliability front, but will probably only cover 10,00 mile per annum so hopefully things should be okay during the first three years whilst under warranty!

I look forward to reading your views & comments!

Happy LandRovering to one & all...

Old Snoddy!!

lots of extras there Shocked

You won't need item 22 (tow bar storage) as it comes as standard with item 16 (tow pack) as long as this is factory supplied Thumbs Up

Hello Woody 179, many thanks for your info & advice, as I wasn't told this when I ordered the extra's. I shall speak to the salesman next week sometime to see what he has to say. Heaven knows, the're making enough money out of me on this, so if I can save the £80-00 cost that will be spent somewhere else then!!

Thanks very much, I shall keep you informed of my progress with this purchase!!

Cheers

Hello D4mation,

I'm not spending my pension but something else. So I decided that if I get this vehicle, I shall make it last for a long time, so it needs to be loaded up with all the goodies that I shall need. PS... Thankfully still a long way off from my pension!!!!
